Coronation Street is set to be rocked by a huge return next week, Kit Green makes a big discovery and a new romance blossoms for one of Weatherfield's residents

In the upcoming episodes, Kit Green stumbles upon a significant revelation in the midst of the missing Joel Deering mystery. Additionally, a dramatic comeback after 14 years leaves the residents of Weatherfield in shock.

In other Corrie news, Carla Connor’s love life takes an exciting turn as she shares a tender moment with DS Lisa Swain. Here’s a sneak peek at the most significant storylines on Coronation Street next week….

The week kicks off with Carla (Alison King) having a dreadful day when Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) accidentally reveals to a key client that she is facing court for ABH while Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) discloses that Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) is in Turkey.

Later, over at court, Carla comes face-to-face with Tom, the dad of the lad she knocked over and back at the factory, with the client less than impressed, Carla takes her anger out on Betsy and Sarah, unaware that Tom has followed her back from court and is watching her.

Carla is left stunned when Tom appears as he shows his fury, is she in danger? While later on, a tender moment with DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) leaves Carla feeling confused. Has Lisa felt it too and what does it mean for the two?

Later in the week, Carla buys Betsy a coffee and confirms that she can have her job back at the factory, leaving the youngster delighted. Meanwhile, Carla suggests to Lisa that they need to talk…

Elsewhere on the cobbles next week, several residents are floored to see a blast from the past as Jesse, played by John Thomson, makes a return after 14 years. Newly back from Thailand, Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) is gobsmacked to see her ex-boyfriend Jesse climbing out of a taxi.

Meanwhile, Gail Platt (Helen Worth) arrives back on the street and is shocked to see Jesse also. Gail reveals to a stunned Eileen that she and Jesse met years back in Thailand. As Jesse insists he needed to check Gail was okay, she ushers him into her house. Wha does he want and why is he in Weatherfield?

Later in the week, the Platt family are baffled with Jesse’s arrival and while Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) is discussing Damon Hay’s (Ciaran Griffiths) hidden money with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), Jesse states that he recognises him from Sarah’s wedding pictures.

After meeting Jesse in the cafe, Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) urges Sarah and David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) to sit down and talk to him. Later, Jesse catches up with Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) over a pint and opens up on why he’s really here.

Also on Corrie next week, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) downloads the files from Joel’s laptop, who is presumed dead, but is horrified by what he finds as he calls Lisa. What has he discovered?
