Coronation Street ‘rumble’ owner of botched surgery clinic – and it’s ‘not Debbie’

A new Coronation Street plot will see a familiar face revealed to be the director of the clinic where Bethany Platt was injured, during a botched procedure.

Bethany was left fighting for her life in hospital due to a botched liposuction procedure, with her fitted with a permanent stoma bag after complications. In upcoming episodes we will see Bethany urged to sue the company, after news of another botched procedure.

Soon enough Bethany and Adam Barlow make the discovery that the director for the clinic is in the UK, and when their identity is revealed there’s a shock in store. It seems we see the director and they’re someone already known to viewers – but who could it be?

Spoilers hinted it could be Debbie Webster, amid a sad storyline for the fan favourite. But viewers think this is all a red herring and soon someone else on the cobbles will be identified as being linked to the clinic.

Taking to Reddit, a new theory suggests someone closer to home could be the one Bethany will expose. Amid their recent arrival on the show and them being caught up in drama with the Platts, one theory is that Jesse Chadwick could be the director amid his mystery wealth.

Jesse has been very cryptic about his life away from Weatherfield, while implying he’s had all kinds of windfalls including from his former home. But could this all be an act and is he hiding something?

A post read: “So it seems someone on the street is involved with the hospital where the surgery went wrong. My money is on Debbie.” The post went on to explain this theory but other viewers had their own ideas.

One fan replied, blaming Jesse: “I know they are pointing at Debbie, but I really hope she is a red herring and the real culprit is Jesse. They’ve hinted that he lives in a posh neighbourhood, he’s been vague about what he has been doing since his clown days, and we know he has enough money to travel a lot yet never seems to have to work.

“It would be wild to find out that Gail had to sell the house to pay medical expenses caused by her own fiancé’s clinic. Also, we know he’s a bit shady as he agreed to help David keep the stolen money hidden.” A second fan said: “Jesse is a good shout.” as a third agreed: “The signs point to Debbie, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it involves Jesse.”

That said, spoilers do tease Debbie is involved and she was the person who landed Bethany the article about the clinic in the first place. One viewer said: “Who else could it feasibly be other than Debbie?

“I guess Carla could secretly have a hand in overseas business. But yeah, Debbie started the whole thing bringing it up to Bethany, so I assume it’s her.” Another said: “It sounds like you could be spot on. Debbie is always trying to scam someone for money!”
