Coronation Street ‘solve’ Mick and Lou’s sinister real plan for Chesney and Gemma

Coronation Street viewers are convinced there is more to new couple Mick and Lou on the ITV soap

There could be drama ahead on Coronation Street if a new theory is proven to be correct.

New couple Mick and Lou have certainly brought trouble to the street, and now fans fear they have a secret agenda. The couple have formed a friendship with their neighbours Chesney and Gemma Brown, but ITV soap fans think they are up to no good.

Lou’s abrupt bonding with Gemma and Mick’s comments to Chesney, not to mention some fiery scenes on Monday night, sparked concern they have a secret plan against Gemma and Chesney. With it revealed Mick is the van driver who has been harassing Chesney for months, could he be targeting him once more?

During the latest episode of the ITV soap, Mick and Lou got into a huge row after showing up at their neighbours’ house unexpectedly. While Mick initially tried to pin him breaking Lou’s vase on Chesney, Lou soon learned the truth.

As a row ensued, Gemma was stunned as Mick lashed out at his partner before storming out. Later on, Chesney advised his new friend to make it up with Lou, telling them not to throw their relationship away.

Mick asked Chesney if he could borrow some money for some flowers to which Chesney agreed, while he was clearly confused by it. Moments later Mick and Lou made amends back at Gemma and Chesney’s house.

Suddenly they got passionate in front of the pair, leaving them stunned and fleeing to the kitchen as things got quite steamy. Some fans were sure there was more to the couple though, calling them odd.

Some fans were convinced the earlier row was staged, and that there had to be a reason the pair kept going to see Chesney and Gemma. One theory was that the pair were secretly plotting against the duo, and might even be conning them.

Taking to X, one theory read: “Chesney and Gemma are getting conned.” Another fan said: “That new couple are faking that argument I reckon. Deffo up to something.”

A third viewer commented on the pair: “This new couple is bad news,” as a fourth fan added: “I think there’s more to Mick and Lou.” Corrie boss Kate Brooks recently teased to The Mirror about the new arrivals: “They are live wires, they are ruffians, they are going to cause a lot of damage and a lot of chaos. There is a link to Chesney initially, which I won’t go into too much, but they are coming to stir up a lot of trouble, and they are coming also to open up the floodgates and unpack the past of one of our big characters, which is Kit.”
