Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) is going against his moral compass in Coronation Street and preparing to frame a dying cancer patient for the murder of Natasha Blakeman.

Natasha was killed by Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor), who also happens to be the brother of Adam’s enemy Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths). A few weeks ago, Adam visited Harvey in prison and agreed to launch an appeal case surrounding Natasha’s murder, if Harvey got rid of Damon in return.

This week, after a comment from Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown), Adam told Harvey that the only way they can suggest he didn’t kill Natasha was if they frame someone else, and argue the person responsible got gunshot residue on Harvey instead.

Shortly after, Harvey made contact with Adam and said a man called John Perry is willing to confess.

Tonight (February 9), Adam made his way over to Weatherfield General Hospital and asked after John, assuming he was a member of staff.

John was sat on the sofa behind Adam, who was stunned when he said he can’t be long as he has an appointment to attend for his cancer treatment.

Adam then sat down and got to know John. He said that he had been involved in criminal activity in the past, and had also done time behind bars and as a result, no-one wants to hire him. John admitted that he doesn’t have long left due to his cancer, and wants to leave something behind for his family – and taking Harvey’s deal will ensure that happens.

The solicitor was understandably struggling to process the chat and Harvey’s mammoth ask.

During a phone call, Adam told Harvey he wasn’t sure if the plan was a good idea, but the evil murderer reminded him he didn’t have a choice – he had to continue.

In the pub, after a harsh comment was made about Paul (Peter Ash), Adam was given food for thought when his friend commented on family and the prospect of losing Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) and Summer (Harriet Bibby).

As night fell, Adam hopped into a taxi and sat beside John. He said they would spend the evening prepping, ready to go to the police with a statement tomorrow.

John questioned why Adam was doing this and he responded ‘family’.

But with Sarah (Tina O’Brien) moving on from Adam, is this really going to be worth it?

Or will the plan leave Adam with nothing?
