Coronation Street spoilers: Bethany floors Daniel with a major secret and there are more shocks to come

Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) was stunned in Sunday’s (February 11) episode of Coronation Street as he learnt of Bethany Platt’s (Lucy Fallon) plan to sell a sensitive and emotional story in a gossip magazine.

It became apparent recently that Bethany was struggling to hold her career together.

After being declined for work at the Weatherfield Gazette, Bethany overheard a conversation about Ryan (Ryan Prescott) and Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) and knew she’d be able to secure a commission with a story about what they’ve been through – and she’d get some money.

Bethany’s efforts of keeping her article a secret didn’t last long, as Daniel picked up her phone and answered a call to someone at Chit Chat Magazine.

In the Bistro, when Bethany returned, she was uncomfortable with Daniel taking her calls and called him a snob when he reacted badly to her working for Chit Chat.

At the flat, Bethany returned with the article in hand.

She needed up confessing that in London, she got fired from her job due to not checking a source properly, and thought she could start her career again in Weatherfield.

Daniel read the article and later, told Bethany he was impressed by her work. However, after the positive comments came the negative ones, as Daniel warned Bethany that while changing the names is beneficial, people will soon guess and work out who the story is actually about.

And when it comes to Daisy, Daniel told Bethany that she won’t see it as a clever piece of writing, and that it might be wise to let her know of what’s to come.

This will no doubt prompt a negative response from Daisy as she’s reminded of everything she went through – but will Bethany go ahead with getting the piece published?
