Coronation Street spoilers: Charlotte Jordan confirms Daisy’s prison terror as her crime is exposed
Daisy Midgeley’s (Charlotte Jordan) fraudulent purchase of the Rovers Return is to be exposed in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.
Viewers will remember that Daisy discovered the huge wad of money stolen by Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) from Underworld when step-mum Jenny Connor (Sally-Ann Matthews) acquired his laptop from his estate.
Stephen had manipulated Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) into giving him access to the knicker factory’s bank account so he could transfer their entire funds into his own fake consultancy company, Seagull Limited.
Following Stephen’s death, Daisy did some digging on the laptop and found the stolen money, using it to buy back the much-loved pub from property developers. Despite initially feeling guilty that the factory workers were going unpaid, Jenny was later talked round into the dastardly plan to obtain her favourite boozer back.
‘Daisy is viewing the money as Stephen’s money instead of Carla’s money, otherwise it’s a bit too personal and a bit too close to home’ Charlotte said on the storyline.
‘So, if she looks at it as Stephen’s money that she’s stolen, then she thinks he was a bad guy who didn’t deserve it anyway and at least Daisy can put it to good use which is ultimately going to help herself as well as the community.’
Her wicked ways look to be revealed in upcoming scenes when she meets up with a representative from brewery Waterford’s at the Chariot Square Hotel, in the hope of stocking their iconic Newton and Ridley brand again.
Whilst Carla waits of a client arriving at the hotel lounge, she chats with the rep who says he’s meeting the owner of the Rovers and is shocked when Daisy strolls in.
Later in the day, Jenny is annoyed that the deal with Waterford’s has been struck without her say, but Daisy is quick to step in and remind her that she is co-owner – unaware that Carla has heard every word.
‘She’s terrified of Carla finding out that she’s committed fraud in order to get the Rovers’ added Charlotte.
‘It’s very high stakes so she is scared of Carla finding out the truth and obviously Daisy does not want to go to prison!’
Will Carla report the women, or will they be quick enough to worm their way out of her realisation?
