Coronation Street spoilers: Doomed Roy Cropper’s situation gets worse as old symptoms plague him
Roy Cropper (David Neilson) is once again reminded of what happens when he’s stressed in Coronation Street as he starts to sleepwalk.
Roy often discovers he’s been sleepwalking whenever he’s at the centre of something that impacts his life or someone he’s close to.
In 2019, after the death of his mum, Roy was spotted sleepwalking by Carla (Alison King).
The next night, Roy was sleep-walking again and ended up on Peter’s (Chris Gascoyne) boat.
He knocked a paraffin lamp over, which sent the boat up in flames.
Last year, ahead of Roy’s heart operation, Nina (Mollie Gallagher) revealed to Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) that Roy had been sleepwalking due to how stressed he was.
In upcoming episodes, Roy is faced with another difficult challenge when Nina tells him she found a smouldering pan on the stove, leaving him faced with the worry that he’s been creating hazards in his sleep and cannot remember.
Roy is in the middle of a hellish ordeal after being arrested for Lauren’s (Cait Fitton) murder. As it stands, we currently don’t know if Lauren has been killed, but DS Swain (Vicky Myers) is assuming this due to the blood found in her flat, and the way she seemingly vanished into thin air.
During Roy’s questioning, he told Swain and Craig (Colson Smith) that he cleaned Lauren’s flat to help Evelyn and was wearing rubber gloves at the time, so taking his fingerprints would be a bit pointless. The comments from Roy were honest and we believed him but for Swain, it all seemed a little bit suspicious.
Back in the café, after Roy’s chat with Nina about the sleepwalking, he tells Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) that whatever the cost, he is more than happy to pay because he wants to clear his name.
Later, a concerned Nina tells Dee-Dee about Roy’s sleepwalking and wonders how on earth he’s going to pay his legal fees if it ends up going to court.
But what will the outcome be?
Could Roy face time behind bars for a crime he wasn’t responsible for?
