Coronation Street spoilers: Dramatic showdown for Carla Connor as she makes an unexpected discovery

Carla Connor at Underworld in Corrie

At the end of last year, Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) in Coronation Street decided to play dirty in order to get the Rovers Return back.

With knowledge that Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) had a bank account with a lot of money in it, Daisy got her hands on his journal, logged into an online banking website, and sat with bright eyes when she realised a transfer of the cash had worked.

All that was left was for Daisy to get access to all of Stephen’s money and buy the pub back. While it sounds simple enough, Daisy and Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) have failed to tell anyone where the cash came from, partly because they both know Carla (Alison King) is technically entitled to some of it.

In tonight’s (February 26) episode of the ITV soap, co-owner of the pub Daisy had a meeting organised with a rep from Waterfords.

It then became apparent Carla was also set to attend a meeting at the same hotel, but with a client for Underworld.

When Carla arrived, she bumped into the rep from Waterfords. She got her wires crossed and introduced herself to the wrong person, and was left confused when the man revealed he was having a meeting with Daisy from the pub.

Carla then headed off but just as she turned around, she saw Daisy approach the man.

Given food for thought, Carla returned home and overheard Daisy reminding Jenny that they’re partners when it comes to running the pub.

Put on the spot, Daisy and Jenny told a spectacular lie. They tricked Carla into thinking Daisy secured a loan from her mum in order to help Jenny buy the pub back – and it worked a treat.

Carla apologised for sticking her nose in and left Daisy and Jenny breathing a sigh of relief – their secret has been kept safe for a little bit longer.

But will it be kept safe forever?
