Coronation Street’s Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) has dealt a devastating blow to long-term lodger Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) in the wake of son Dylan Wilson’s (Liam McCheyne) knife crime charges.

For months, Dylan has felt peer pressured into bullying defenceless neighbour Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall) by evil teenager Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) who has orchestrated the entire ordeal.

The bullying came to a head when Mason threatened Liam with a knife, which left him contemplating taking his own life.

Ever since, Liam’s parents Maria (Samia Longchambon) and Gary Windass (Mikey North) have feared the worst for their son and have been fiercely protective of his every move.

Earlier this week, fearful of the repercussions of his actions, Mason planted the knife on Liam and he was arrested on the precinct.

Whilst initially being allowed home, Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) later warned that the CPS were to charge him for being in possession of a bladed weapon.

In tonight’s (8th March) episode, as the reality of the situation kicked in, Dylan headed to Victoria Court to apologise to Liam.

The two boys talked about how they were both victims of Mason, but Dylan realised that Liam’s situation was far worse than his own when he discussed his suicidal thoughts.

Heading home to No. 11, he told Sean that he needed to take responsibility of his actions and plead guilty in court.

Over an emotionally charged row in the street, Eileen was given food for thought when Gary said that residents would soon begin to tarnish her reputation because the knife was hidden in her house.

Returning home, she told Sean, who has lodged with her for over twenty years, that he needed to find somewhere else to live.
