Lauren’s killer revealed in special week

Corrie fans finally find out what happened to Lauren next week and who her killer is, if she’s really dead. The teen has been missing since February with her seemingly attacked in her flat and badly injured.

She wasn’t at the scene of the crime and no body has been found, but detectives are convinced she has been murdered, with Roy Cropper charged as the culprit. Blood splatters and traces of human tissue found at her flat were said to be consistent with a heavy blow to the head, with a bloodied weapon also found.

While the soap has not confirmed her fate, it seems she could well be dead – and we will now find out who killed her. A special week of episodes to air next week will finally expose exactly what happened the night Lauren vanished. Not only that, but flashbacks will reveal her fate and who attacked her.

In upcoming scenes this week, Roy has got more worries ahead as Griff returns to the ITV soap after one year as he’s transferred back to Weatherfield nick. With Griff being friends with Lauren’s dad Reece, it’s not long until he decides to get revenge on the beloved café owner and attempts to force a confession out of Roy.

Spoilers see Griff make Roy’s life a misery by showing up in his prison cell to even damaging his book, covering it in tea. Later in the week, things get worse when Griff orders Roscoe to lure Roy to the prison library. As an oblivious Roy heads off to the library with Roscoe, Griff enters his empty cell. Later, upon returning from the library, Roy is shocked to come face to face with Griff.

Pulling out a weapon, Griff demands Roy tell him what he did with Lauren’s body. With an innocent Roy refusing to confess to murder, Griff holds the makeshift knife to his throat and orders Roy to say his last words. Will Roy be okay and will he be saved in time or could the soap legend be killed off after nearly 30 years on the cobbles?

Earlier this year, DS Swain made a return to the cobbles and has become a Weatherfield regular as she investigates missing teenager Lauren Bolton. With DS Swain becoming a soap regular, viewers will get to see the real Lisa away from her police profession next week and this could mean the introduction of a new character or two.

In upcoming scenes, DS Swain attempts to grill Carla Connor over why she has fallen out with Roy after suspecting she lied about a piece of information to help free her friend, who has been wrongly arrested and charged for missing Lauren’s murder. However, it’s not long until Carla overhears DS Swain rowing with her daughter over the phone.

Sensing there’s trouble, Carla lends a kind ear, where DS Swain sadly explains her partner died and her daughter is struggling with her grief. Later in the week, Carla decides to help DS Swain as she offers her daughter some work experience at the factory.

In upcoming scenes, Carla and nephew Bobby find themselves on the wrong side of the law, facing charges for perverting the course of justice after they lied to try and help. Only recently, Roy told Carla their friendship was over after she backed up her nephew Bobby’s lie to the police, which he did in a bid to save Roy but it instead backfired.

Roy, who never lies, has condemned Carla’s deceit. In upcoming episodes, DS Swain attempts to grill Carla Connor over why she has fallen out with Roy after suspecting she lied about a piece of information to help free her friend. And it’s not long until DS Swain arrests Bobby on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

It’s then that DS Swain warns Carla that Bobby’s lies aren’t helping anyone, least of all Roy. Meanwhile, at the same time, Roy’s solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey hopes Bobby’s statement will be enough to exonerate Roy but she is soon left horrified when learning Bobby has been arrested for perverting the course of justice, realising Roy’s defence is up in smoke.
