Coronation Street spoilers: Heartbreaking scenes ahead in last meal tragedy for dying Paul

Recently in Coronation Street, Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) was rushed to hospital after being found semi-conscious.

He was on his own in the flat after being left by his horrible dad Denny, and then experienced a coughing fit he struggled to settle by himself.

In the hospital, Paul was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia, which develops as a result of things like food, drink and vomit getting stuck in the airways or lungs instead of being swallowed or spat out.

To once again ensure Paul is as comfortable as possible while his motor neurone disease develops, he will soon be fitted with a feeding tube.

At the start of the week, focus is on Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove). When Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) realises her mum has been lying about her whereabouts, she asks Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) to do some digging.

Dev eventually confronts Bernie, who crumbles and admits she had another son, Zodiac (Zac for short), who was taken into care.

Bernie then explains Zac was later adopted and changed his name to Christopher Green and now, she wants to find him.

Later in the week, Bernie tells Dev there’s one more Christopher Green on her list and she’s going to pay him a visit.

However, when Bernie discovers that Christopher died of cancer, she starts to worry she’s missed the chance to find her son.

Elsewhere, in the flat, Paul gets ready for his last meal before having his feeding tube fitted tomorrow.

It’s another heartbreaking moment for the character, who is fully aware that eventually, there will come a time where his MND will take over his entire body.
