Coronation Street spoilers: Horrific end as Roy dies in violent prison murder just as he’s proven innocent?

Roy Cropper (David Neilson) faces a very angry Griff Reynolds (Michael Condron) in Coronation Street next week.

Griff was the leader of a far-right gang and was also responsible for manipulating Max (Paddy Bever) into joining. While Max was part of the group, he met Lauren (Cait Fitton), who shared the extremist views due to her dad Reece also being a member.

With Griff set to make his way back to Weatherfield prison, it becomes apparent he also believes Roy killed Lauren – and he wants revenge.

In a special week of episodes that will see us finally learn who really murdered Lauren, time is running out for Roy – as Griff makes his presence felt.

At the start of the week though, focus is on Nathan (Christopher Harper).

A very desperate Sarah (Tina O’Brien) arrives at the building site with a hair bobble belonging to Lauren, but she’s caught out by Kit (Jacob Roberts), who forces Sarah to admit she was planning on planting the hair tie in Nathan’s van.

In Roy’s prison cell, the book he was reading lies soaked in tea with a broken spine. An accident? Far from it. It’s a warning.

When DS Swain (Vicky Myers) then visits Roy in his cell, she asks him outright if his fallout with Carla (Alison King) has anything to do with Bobby’s (Jack Carroll) statement.

As Bobby is arrested for perverting the course of justice, Nathan is arrested by Kit on suspicion of breaking his sexual harm prevention order.

Just as Swain tells Carla that Bobby’s lies aren’t helping anyone, Griff enters Roy’s prison cell.

In the middle of the week, while Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) hopes that Bobby’s statement will be enough to exonerate him, Griff orders cellmate Roscoe to lure Roy to the prison library.

Just as Roy returns, he is horrified to be faced with Griff – and he’s got a knife.

As Griff confronts Roy and demands he reveals where Lauren’s body is, DS Swain and Kit are interviewing Nathan, who is being represented by Joel (Calum Lill).

Swain really pushes Nathan’s buttons, commenting on his penchant for young girls and the fact the woman who previously provided him with an alibi has now changed her mind.

With Nathan rattled we then return to the cell. Roy is still refusing to confess to murder, so Griff holds the knife to his throat and order Roy to say his last words.

As the truth about who killed Lauren is confirmed, will Griff get his revenge and murder an innocent Roy?
