There’s a big week ahead on Coronation Street next week, with spoilers detailing some huge twists and hints at what’s ahead.

There’s a possible exit looming, while another character could end up leaving the show after a horrific murder. More about Rob Donovan’s return is confirmed too as we appear to find out his real plan.

Carla Connor has a big decision to make amid her health battle, and it leads to a worrying discovery. There’s hostage drama ahead too leaving lives in danger, and there’s some big secrets exposed including a baby bombshell, a health diagnosis, worrying psychosis for one resident and the truth about Cassie Plummer’s plan for Ken Barlow.

If that’s not enough, one character considers a life-changing decision, and Lauren Bolton’s court case begins as she faces life behind bars. It’s certainly an eventful week on Weatherfield with so much to unpack.

Let’s start with Rob’s return which actually airs this week, and next week Carla refuses to believe her killer brother has changed. Next week, Rob offers to donate one of his kidneys to his poorly sister Carla, who needs a transplant.

Rob claims to have found religion and that his ‘real plan’ is to make amends, but Carla is not buying it at all. She refuses to trust him but is urged by nephew Bobby to go and see him, and this she does.

Once more, Rob makes out that finding God has changed him as a person, and he wants to make amends. He then offers to give her his kidney and Carla’s taken aback. She soon finds out that if she accepts Rob as her donor, she would have to go private due to the cost of keeping a prisoner in hospital.

But when she learns it could cost around £100,000, will it put her off? That could be the least of her worries though, as at the start of the week Rob and Bobby find themselves in a hostage situation at the prison when Matty Radcliffe pulls out a knife. Will they be okay?

Elsewhere and the game could be up for Cassie, as she continues drugging Ken Barlow next week only to be caught out. Little Bertie spots Cassie putting an antihistamine into Ken’s tea and asks her what she is doing.

Cassie thinks she’s managed to keep Bertie quiet but when he informs Daisy Midgeley of what he’s seen, she wastes no time in telling ex Daniel amid her baby secret. Things don’t go to plan though when Cassie finds out Daisy is pregnant, and that Daniel could be the dad.

Daniel and the other potential baby daddy Kit Green also uncover the truth when she’s taken to hospital after a fall. As Daniel fears what it might mean for his relationship with Bethany Platt, matters worsen when Cassie makes it clear she’s figured it out.

Ken’s son Daniel is then forced to tell nephew Adam Barlow that he suspects Cassie has been drugging Ken but he can’t say anything due to his newfound predicament. Adam’s horrified over the suspicion and the blackmail, so might he do something about it?

Bethany meanwhile is offered a dream job with a magazine London, ahead of actress Lucy Fallon heading off on maternity leave. Daisy urges her to tell Daniel about it – but will she get the reaction she’s hoping for?

Also next week the fallout to Mason’s murder leaves more than one resident reeling. Abi Franklin is experiencing some sort of psychosis, having visions of her late son Seb while also reliving Mason’s last moments over and over in her head.

What she doesn’t know is that her husband Kevin Webster is facing turmoil of his own after discovering a lump. When Kevin sees Dr Gaddas, he’s referred for tests and soon he shares his cancer fears with pal Tim Metcalfe.

Abi meanwhile acts out, when she wrongly suspects sister-in-law Debbie Webster has taken her son Alfie, after Kevin takes him upstairs. As Kevin tries to calm the situation down Debbie leaves, and he soon tells his wife he may have testicular cancer leaving her reeling.

Daisy's pregnancy news is revealed

When Abi later breaks down and confides in Roy Cropper, can he convince her to get the help she needs? Alya Nazir, meanwhile, faces a tough decision when she learns her company will be representing Mason’s killer brother Matty in court – but will she leave the career altogether?

Dylan Wilson is also in turmoil in the wake of Mason’s death, with him there when the stabbing happened. Matty’s been arrested at this point, while Logan is still on the loose – and it seems Dylan ends up admitting he was the one who had been hiding the knife later used to kill Mason, and it could land him in serious trouble.

Finally next week Lauren fears for her future as the trial begins against her over Joel Deering’s murder. Lauren is painted as a liar and the result could go either way, with a mystery character named Brie soon targeting her.
