Coronation Street spoilers: Ken Barlow is rocked by a big family bombshell that has big consequences

Ken Barlow at Number 1 Coronation Street

There’s no chance of Coronation Street stalwart Ken Barlow (William Roache) settling down for a quiet and peaceful life any time soon – not while his family are all there to make his life complicated with their various dramas and turmoil.

Daughter Tracy Barlow’s (Kate Ford) domestic dramas following her recent affair with footballing legend Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn) were bad enough. Not only has Tracy broken Steve (Simon Gregson)’s heart, but Amy (Elle Mulvaney) was also devastated to learn that her parents were splitting up (again).

But it’s Ken’s grandson Adam (Sam Robertson) who gives him the most stress in upcoming episodes when it becomes clear just how far he was prepared to go to get Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) out of Sarah (Tina O’Brien)’s life.

Adam had agreed to work with Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) to make sure Damon left Weatherfield for good. Harvey is, of course, Damon’s brother and is currently in prison for the murder of Natasha Blakeman.

Harvey’s price for helping Adam was for Adam to help him appeal his sentence, but we’ll see Adam realising that it’s not a great idea to put any kind of faith in Harvey Gaskell.

He decides to delete Harvey’s appeal document and puts the USB containing the CCTV footage in a jiffy bag, labelling it ‘The murder of Natasha Blakeman.’

Soon Harvey discovers that the police have the CCTV footage and, furious, he warns Adam to watch his back.

Adam goes to see Sarah to plead one more time for her to give their marriage another try. He says he still loves her and doesn’t want a divorce.

Sarah can’t cope with this and runs out of the flat, upset. Bethany (Lucy Fallon) heads after her – and a car accelerates towards them both.

In the aftermath of this horrific incident, Daniel (Rob Mallard) is furious with Adam for getting involved with Harvey and putting Sarah’s and Bethany’s lives in danger.

But Daniel is not as angry as Ken, who is shocked to hear what Adam has been up to – and he’s horrified to think what the consequences could have been.
