Coronation Street spoilers: Knife horror confirmed in dark twist for several terrified residents
Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall) is slowly opening up about the extent of the bullying ordeal that he’s been through in Coronation Street.
His mum Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) was devastated to discover that the bullying had been so bad that Liam had been researching ways to end his life, unable to bear much more.
In the wake of that Maria and Gary (Mikey North) have urged Liam to tell them about everything he went through, in the hope that bully Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) will eventually be made to pay for what he put Liam through.
One of the more terrifying things that happened was when Mason pulled a knife on Liam, and that’s something that comes out in upcoming episodes when Liam finally tells Maria and Gary about what happened.
They take him to the police to report the crime, and it’s not long before Craig (Colson Smith) and another officer go to do a house search, looking for the knife.
But it’s not Mason’s house they search – it’s Dylan (Liam McCheyne)’s. The police tell Sean (Antony Cotton) and Eileen (Sue Cleaver) that they think the knife is being hidden at their address. A search of the house doesn’t find anything and Dylan denies all knowledge of it.
He’s lying, though. Soon Mason contacts him and asks him to get the knife from its hiding place and bring it to the ginnel.
While Dylan waits for Mason to show up he realises with dread that Craig has appeared – and he demands to look in Liam’s bag and finds the knife.
Dylan realises he’s been set up by Mason. Will he finally realise that the only way out is to tell the police everything he knows about Mason – including that it was the bully who was driving the car when Eliza Woodrow (Savannah Kunyo) was hurt in a hit and run incident?
Luca Toolan told us it was a prospect that would scare Mason deep down.
‘The way it was written was that Mason wasn’t too bothered about the hit and run coming out,’ he explained.
‘But I tried to play it in a way that he came across like he wasn’t bothered but deep down, internally, he was. It’s all a facade with Mason. I don’t think he’s a proper hard-man really, is he? He’s putting on this show, this bravado, but deep down he’s just a scared little boy.’
At the same time Luca warned that Mason’s anger would soon be directed at Dylan.
‘Mason does not like being betrayed. He’s very insecure, he has a lot of trust issues, so [Dylan talking to the police] will definitely tick him off. Expect more trouble!’
