Coronation Street spoilers: Leanne Battersby’s horror as Simon Barlow forced to sleep rough by raging Nick Tilsley

Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) is set to be left horrified in upcoming Coronation Street scenes when Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) forces Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) to sleep rough.

Things have been tense between Nick and Simon for a while now, with Nick disapproving of the affect Simon’s loud, late nights have had on Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan).

However, things are set to get even worse when Sam is injured in a car accident caused by Simon, and Nick discovers the truth.

Having damaged the car after crashing on the way to Sam’s chess tournament, Simon apologises to Nick, who assures him that it was an accident.

However, when he learns from mechanic Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) that the repairs on the car had nothing to do with the brakes, Nick’s suspicions grow.

Things go from bad to worse when Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) finds Sam unconscious at school, and he is rushed to hospital, where Leanne tells the doctor all about the car crash.

It is then that Leanne realises that she has no choice but to tell Nick the truth – that Simon had got behind the wheel while over the drink driving limit.

Nick is left totally reeling from the discovery, and Simon reasons that it is time to take responsibility.

When Sam gets home, he is upset to learn that Simon has moved out.

Leanne is furious and rails at Nick for throwing him out, always putting his own son before Simon.

As she heads out after him, she soon finds him huddled on a bench in Victoria Garden, and she realises that he has been there all night.

In emotional scenes, Simon pours his heart out, lamenting that Nick was right when he called him a waste of space who drinks too much and is turning into his dad.
