Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) and Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) had different ideas for their future in recent Coronation Street scenes, which led to tension between them.

The pair are set to get married, and while Leanne wants to get it done as soon as possible, Nick is keen to wait a while.

Despite this, recent scenes saw him reluctantly agree to attend a wedding fayre at the Chariot Square Hotel, and soon enough manager Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) was encouraging them to book the venue for their big day.

While Leanne was eager, Nick suggested they look at other venues first, and his lack of enthusiasm left Leanne gutted.

Later, she confronted him about his lack of interest and asked him to tell her the truth and admit that he didn’t actually want to marry her.

Nick was quick to correct her by pointing out that he didn’t want to marry her yet – a very big difference, in his eyes.

However, Leanne was of the opinion that if it didn’t happen soon, it would never happen at all, and soon sent Nick home with Simon as she arranged to talk to Debbie alone.

As she announced the bad news to Debbie, she was interrupted by charming Rowan (Emrhys Cooper), who shared one of his mantras.

At first, Leanne wasn’t happy with his unsolicited advice, but she soon realised that he was the speaker for The Institute that son Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) had just been to.

When Rowan joined them for a coffee, he began to lecture the women on living authentically, though his use of tech jargon seemed to go over Debbie’s head.

Leanne, however, seemed taken in by Rowan and his ideas, and she later took his advice and apologised to Nick.

With things back on track for the couple, could Leanne be influenced by Rowan even more in the future?
