Coronation Street spoilers: Police come to Billy and Paul’s rescue after hospital agony
Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) receive an unexpected and kind gesture in Coronation Street soon when a police officer steps in to help them.
However, what they aren’t aware of is the fact the man who helps them is actually Paul’s long-lost brother.
In a recent episode of the ITV soap, Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) decided to go on a mission to find her other son Zodiac, who was adopted and had his name changed to Christopher Green shortly after he was born.
In tomorrow’s instalment, Bernie will wonder if all hope has been lost when she learns the final Christopher Green on her list actually died of cancer.
Next week, an emotional Bernie confides in Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) and says how it would have been Zodiac’s (Zac for short) birthday today.
As she sets off for Paul’s feeding tube operation, Bernie finds her car being towed away.
Spotting Kit (Jacob Roberts) nearby – the man she met on Monday – Bernie convinces herself that he’s to blame. Calling at the police station to make a complaint, Bernie is stunned when Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) and his colleagues emerge with a birthday cake for Kit.
Of course, Bernie quickly realises it would be a massive coincidence for this police officer to share the same birthday as the son she’s currently looking for.
Later in the week, Billy and Paul are back at the hospital.
Just as Billy reverses his car into a disabled parking bay, another car swoops in.
Witnessing this is Kit, who flashes his ID and forces the driver to move.
Back at home, when Billy and Paul tell Bernie about Kit and how he came to their rescue, she is quietly buoyed.
Calling at the station, Bernie thanks Kit for the kindness he showed Paul, imploring him to give her a chance to explain her side of the story.
But will Kit agree?
Discussing his new role, actor Jacob Roberts told us: ‘It’s absolutely amazing to be joining the cast of Coronation Street. When I walked on set for the first time it felt a bit overwhelming because the attention to detail is just incredible, it actually makes you feel that you are on a real street.
‘My mum and dad are really chuffed too which is lovely. My mum has always watched Coronation Street, I’ve always kept up to date with it too, so it just feels surreal to be here. Meeting all of the cast and crew was great, I really do feel at home here.
‘I’m looking forward to everyone meeting Kit but I do think he is going to be a very misunderstood character at first. He’s been really hurt throughout his life and although he has a good heart, he has some deep rooted resentment with his biological mum, Bernie, which will be really interesting to play out.’
