There’s some big moments on Coronation Street next week in the fallout to this week’s dramatic episode.

New spoilers have confirmed emotional scenes as characters gather for a funeral, to say goodbye to a resident. There’s also the return of a soap favourite after almost a decade, while there’s trouble for more than one resident.

Characters are exposed too, with one detective at risk of trouble, while one character seems to be plotting behind the back of a relative. A DNA bombshell could also be exposed, while there’s possible danger ahead and the fallout to a villain’s brutal attack.

First up we have Kit Green who faces trouble from his potential son Brody Michaelis next week, amid the DNA bombshell. Kit learned he could be the father of Lou and Mick Michaelis’ son recently, as their pasts were shared.

Amid a brutal attack on Craig Tinker this week, it seems spoilers for next week hint Mick has been arrested for this crime or something else. As a result, Brody blames Kit for everything after Mick claims he’s been stitched up by the police.

Brody heads to Kit’s flat and confronts him, with Kit trying to prove his dad is guilty. But Brody loses it and charges at Kit, causing him to slam against a wall – but will Kit be okay?

Later in the week, DS Lisa Swain confirms to Kit that his mother Bernie Winter had provided Brody with an alibi. He rages at Bernie and gives her an ultimatum, but Bernie is having none of it.

She reminds him that Kit is likely family, forcing him to admit to love interest Sarah Platt all about the DNA twist. Kit then advises Brody to stay out of trouble, telling him he will withdraw the charges if he keeps his head down.

Elsewhere Mick is beaten up in his prison cell ahead of his hearing. Kit is confident he will plead guilty, while Lou is stunned to see the state of her husband when she visits him. Mick claims that Kit organised the attack on him and spelt out that if he doesn’t plead guilty, the next beating will be worse.

But will Mick plead guilty? Speaking of Lou, she’s left struggling with recent events next week after viewers learned Mick had been violent towards her. With residents turning on her over Mick’s actions towards Craig, she gets fired from the salon – leading to her confiding in Maria’s partner Gary Windass.

Lou reveals all about being abused by Mick over the years, so he buys her a drink to comfort her – but how will Maria react? Also next week, Ronnie Bailey finds himself in bother amid his split from Debbie Webster.

Debbie fears Ronnie has moved on after a moment with newcomer Fiona, so she tries to make Ronnie think she has a new fella. Carl Webster tells Ronnie his sister wants nothing to do with him, barring him from the hotel – leading to a fight between the men.

Fiona’s real intentions are soon exposed, and so are Carl’s it seems. Ronnie is offered a job with her selling on a stolen car. But Ronnie backs out when his client reveals his wife died recently, unable to go through with the sale.

Ronnie calls Fiona and makes out the client wasn’t interested, but then the door suddenly opens and Carl climbs in and demands answers. So is he involved, or has he spotted Ronnie acting weirdly?

It soon becomes clear he has ulterior motives, after getting a job at his brother Kevin Webster’s garage. It would seem Carl has a reason he wants to work there, and he could be plotting behind Kevin’s back – using his brother’s garage for his own gain.

When alone we see Carl calling Fiona and taking delivery of a dodgy car. What is he up to, and is he in cahoots with Fiona? Elsewhere, there’s the return of Jason Grimshaw next week, as actor Ryan Thomas steps back onto the cobbles for the first time in nine years.

His mother Eileen Grimshaw is still struggling after the death of her sister Julie Carp, with Eileen facing trouble after it’s revealed the drugs found in Julie’s system were the painkillers prescribed for her, not Julie.

A remark from Brian who has already accused Eileen of helping Julie to die leaves her snapping and banning him from the funeral. George Shuttleworth tries to support his partner but feels shut out.

Later in the week the day of Julie’s funeral arrives, and Eileen gives Brian a letter from Julie. This leads to him confronting her over Julie’s life insurance policy, pointing out that she’s the only beneficiary yet failed to mention it.

Tracy Barlow pipes up and accuses Eileen of orchestrating her sister’s death for the money, but it’s George Eileen turns on as she blames him for the funeral being ruined. As things take a turn Jason shows up, with an emotional Eileen rushing over to embrace her son.

Finally next week, Carla Connor asks girlfriend Lisa if she meant what she said to her about her future, with these scenes expected to air this week in the fallout to Craig’s attack. Lisa will break down over recent events and tell Carla she wants to grab happiness while she can – but will anymore be said, and will Carla get the answers she needs?
