Coronation Street spoilers: Roy attacked by terrorists in frightening ordeal amid murder story

Roy cornered by two heavies in the cafe in Coronation Street

Roy Cropper (David Neilson) has been targeted by far right extremists in worrying Coronation Street scenes.

The iconic café owner has accidentally implicated himself for the presumed murder of troubled teen Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), who vanished into thin air at the end of February.

After cleaning up her flat and disposing of vital evidence, he became prime suspect in the eyes of tough talking DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers).

Footage of Roy’s arrest began circling online, and has become talk of the neighbourhood.

In tonight’s (18th March) episode, Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King) spoke with him about the conditions of his bail.

As the friends chatted, a mysterious man sat by the fireplace and took notes of their conversation.

Meanwhile, Max Turner (Paddy Bever) headed to Highfield Prison to visit Reece Bolton (Scott Anson), Lauren’s dad who entrapped her into his extremist group.

Hoping that he would have some information on her whereabouts, Max divulged that Roy had been wrongly arrested for her disappearance.

The revelation piqued his interest, and it was clear that he had a plan.

Back on Victoria Street, Roy prepared to head off to the police station for further questioning, but as the café emptied, two men locked the door and cornered him behind the counter.

Confirming that they were some of Reece’s cronies, they began to smash plates and threaten him for information.

Luckily, Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) overheard the commotion and alerted Carla Connor (Alison King) and the two were able to get them to leave.

At the police station, Carla asserted to Swain that Roy was too shaken to answer any further questions but agreed that they should report the extremists for their behaviour.

As the night drew to a close, he asked Abi Webster (Sally Carman) not to tell his niece Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) about the altercation.

She advised that he should probably keep a low profile, but when Nina returned home after planning a vigil for Lauren, he asserted that he should be there.

Will Roy continue to make matters worse for himself, and will the terrorists return to cause more trouble?
