Coronation Street spoilers – Roy Cropper’s big risk as he contacts Lauren Bolton’s mum – and it may seal his fate
Roy Cropper (David Neilson) fails to consider the wider implications of his actions once again in Coronation Street soon, as he contacts Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) mother.
Shortly after the police launched an investigation into Lauren going missing, Roy was arrested. DS Swain (Vicky Myers) struggled to believe that Roy was telling the full truth during their interview in the cafe and assumed he must be hiding something.
Due to the fact Roy currently isn’t behind bars, and how the local press has heavily covered the case, he has faced a torrid of abuse from members of the public.
In upcoming episodes, Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) is feeling the pressure. She’s representing Roy in the investigation but during a chat with Adam (Sam Robertson) and Alya (Sair Khan), she expresses her worry and says all of the evidence so far stacks against Roy.
Later, Carla (Alison King) finds Dee-Dee and tells her about Roy’s sleep-walking and the abusive phone calls. Feeling the mammoth weight on her shoulders, Dee-Dee assures Carla that she’s doing everything she can to prove Roy is innocent.
Towards the end of the week, Bernie’s (Jane Hazlegrove) phone pings and she’s shocked to see that someone has posted the contact details of Lauren’s mum online.
Roy is appalled as he studies the post and, against Evelyn’s (Maureen Lipman) better judgement, calls Kerry and leaves a message offering his sympathy.
In the cafe, a customer makes jibes at Roy, suggesting that he’s responsible for Lauren’s disappearance.
Despite Bernie and David (Jack P Shepherd) leaping to his defence, Roy’s sickened to realise the trouble he’s brought into his friends’ lives.
As this ordeal continues, what does the future hold for Roy?
Will contacting Lauren’s mum prove to be another mistake for the cafe owner?
