Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) was a broken man in Monday’s (February 19) episode of Coronation Street as he discovered son Dylan (Liam McCheyne) had been bullying Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall).

Last week, the truth about Liam’s ordeal came to light when Maria (Samia Longchambon) and Gary (Mikey North) discovered he was feeling suicidal.

In tonight’s episode, as Maria and Liam headed to the surgery to speak with Doctor Gaddas about mental health help, Gary made his way to the precinct but was interrupted by Mason (Luca Toolan) and Dylan, who were hanging out on the swings.

Mason stuck the knife into Gary and twisted it more and more, goading him enough so Gary grabbed the teen and threw him to the floor.Gary didn’t go as far as murder this time due to being stopped by Sean, who quickly relayed the interaction to Eileen (Sue Cleaver) and George (Tony Maudsley) back at home.

When George and Eileen realised Dylan was somewhat defending Mason, Sean asked to look at his son’s phone.

After initially refusing, Dylan handed it over and soon enough, Sean was faced with the devastating reality his son had been horrifically bullying a young boy.

Dylan tried to defend himself but he just made the situation worse. Sean said how he hoped Dylan would be someone who would eradicate bullying, not encourage it, and said he was utterly ashamed of his boy.

That evening, Sean made his way over to Maria and Gary’s. He apologised and said he had got it all wrong, but that wasn’t enough for Maria.

She pointed out that because of Dylan, Liam has been through hell and experienced psychological damage – Sean needed to say more than just sorry.

Reflecting on Maria’s comments, Sean said he will ensure Dylan tells Mrs Crawshaw everything when they return to school.

Later, Dylan was outside speaking to Mason about Sean checking his phone. A paranoid Mason threatened Dylan and said it’s important his name isn’t mentioned because if that was to happen, he might just face the consequences.

So, what will Dylan do next?

Will he tell Mrs Crawshaw that Mason was also responsible for bullying Liam?

Or take the fall completely?
