Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) recently hit the dating scene following the departure of Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) in Coronation Street.
After sleeping with Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn), Tracy left Weatherfield for a new life abroad with him, leaving Steve with nothing but a broken heart.
Embracing life as a single man took Steve a little bit of time to get use to but eventually, he decided it was time to set up an account on a dating app – and he even secured himself a few matches.
Following a failed date with a lady called Carole, Steve went for a drink with his next match, Demi.
It’s early days but things seem to be going well between Steve and Demi so far.
However, there’s every possibility Steve could sabotage his future with his new love interest due to the heartbreak he still feels over his footballing hero sleeping with his wife.
Sitting down to read the paper, Steve spots an article about Weathy County’s plans to honour Tommy Orpington by commissioning a bust of him.
Later, when Steve meets up with Demi, he spends most of the time slagging off Tommy. When she enquires why he hates him so much, Steve’s more than happy to spill the beans about Tracy’s affair.
In the week, Tim (Joe Duttine) is left feeling sorry for his best mate when Steve shows him some pictures of Tracy and Tommy paragliding over the Med.
It’s clear Steve is still focused on Tommy and Tracy a great deal. If he doesn’t move forward, where will that leave Demi?
