Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon announces two huge new storylines for Bethany
Bethany will be investigating two major mysteries.
Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has revealed that there are some major new developments coming up for her character Bethany Platt.
Since Bethany returned to Weatherfield in the New Year after almost four years away in London, she has been thrown into a love triangle between Daniel Osbourne, Daisy Midgeley and Ryan Connor, having rekindled her romance with Daniel following his split from Daisy.
Fallon has now confirmed that Bethany’s rivalry with Daisy is far from over, telling TV Times magazine that Bethany is about to get dangerously close to revealing Daisy’s big secret about her co-purchase of The Rovers Return with Jenny Connor.

She explained that Bethany’s suspicions start to grow after she bumps into Daisy, who has purchased lots of fancy new clothes on a shopping trip.
“Daisy says she’s been to charity shops, but Bethany knows it’s all designer stuff, and thinks, ‘This doesn’t add up’,” Fallon said. “Because Bethany doesn’t like Daisy, she hopes there’s something going on and she can catch her out.”
Bethany is curious about the mystery of Daisy’s sudden wealth, and makes an effort to befriend her. Intrigued by the gesture, Daisy suggests that the pair and their partners Daniel and Ryan should have a dinner party together at the pub.

“Bethany offers to help Daisy prepare the meal, and when Daisy goes into the bar, Bethany starts snooping,” Fallon said.
“She finds the receipts for the clothes, but as she looks further, she ends up finding Stephen Reid’s journal. Then she starts to piece things together.”
She added that Bethany makes a plan to expose Daisy during their dinner, but that things don’t end up going to plan.
Fallon also confirmed that Bethany will be getting involved in another big storyline this year as she becomes embroiled in the hunt for Lauren Bolton, who disappeared suddenly and remains missing.
“Bethany becomes entwined with Lauren, and feels it’s her duty to track down where Lauren is,” she explained.
“I’m looking forward to seeing how this story plays out, and I’m excited for the audience to find out what has happened to Lauren.”
