Coronation Street star Peter Ash made an unexpected return to the ITV soap and fans expressed their delight.
The actor, 39, who arrived on the cobbles in 2018 as Paul Foreman, kept viewers of the TV soap gripped as his character battled Motor Neurone Disease [MND]. And on the back of his return to the soap for one last time, Peter took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to speak about his return.
He said: “It was so lovely to be back on the cobbles of Coronation Street one FINAL time! This brings my total episodes of Corrie to a neat 600! It’s been the time of my life! Love you, Jane Hazlegrove & Dan_Brocklebank.” He went on to also tag “#Paul #Bernie #Billy #Corrie #CoronationStreet.”
The actor arrived in Weatherfield in 2018 as David Platt’s cell mate while at Highfield prison. And his character soon became a fan favourite due to his relationship with Billy Mayhew, played by Daniel Brocklebank. Their adorable romance resulted in their wedding – which was the first same- sex wedding in the history of the soap’s 60 years’ reign.
