Coronation Street’s Jacob Roberts has spilled the beans on his character Kit Green’s next “evil” scheme.

The fresh face on the block, portrayed by Jacob Roberts, made a splash on the cobbles this year as Bernie’s (Jane Hazlegrove) long-lost offspring. The beloved TV character Bernie handed over Christopher ‘Kit’ Green for adoption nearly three decades back.

Fast forward to May 2024, and she finally managed to locate him. Meanwhile, Bernie’s twins Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul (Peter Ash) were gobsmacked to discover they had another sibling.

Kit has since become a staple in Weatherfield – stirring up a storm of drama. Not only did he drive Weatherfield icon Beth Tinker (Lisa George) out of town, but he also played a part in the demise of Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) and Daisy’s (Charlotte Jordan) romance.

However, viewers caught a glimpse of Kit’s tender side after the heart-wrenching death of his brother Paul in September. Diagnosed with MND (Motor Neurone Disease) last year, Paul sadly succumbed to the illness, reports Plymouth Live.

But lately, Kit’s been causing quite the commotion. Just this week, he found himself in bed with Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), amidst her domestic woes with hubby David (Jack P. Shepherd).

Hot on the heels of Ryan and Daisy’s breakup, Kit wasted no time swooping in on Daisy. They recently went on a date that ended in a tiff. Yet, it looks like Kit’s not about to start playing Mr Nice Guy any time soon.

Kit actor Jacob spoke to Plymouth Live and other media outlets, revealing Kit’s next scheme is nothing short of “evil” and “manipulative”. Delving into Kit’s twisted love life, Jacob, who cut his teeth on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, confessed: “I think he gets turned on by the fact that she likes to play games, as he does as well.”

The sly character isn’t all bad though, with Jacob musing over Kit’s deeper desires for companionship: “I think he’s scared of opening up, to someone who doesn’t deserve it. He’s opening himself up in a different way.”

Spilling the beans on Kit’s newest malicious tactic, he disclosed: “He’s [Kit] sort of blaming things on Paul if he does get emotional, or does something wrong. So he starts to go down that route which is quite evil I suppose, and manipulative.”
