Coronation Street star, Matt Milburn, is leaving the soap, sparking heartbreak amid his character’s saucy affair with Tracy McDonald

Kevin Webster, played by Michael Le Vell, reveals the former Weatherfield County player – who is now a painter and director – is leaving the cobbles for Spain next week.

Viewers have watched in horror as Tommy embarked on a steamy affair with soap stalwart Tracy (Kate Ford) over recent months, all while her hapless husband Steve (Simon Gregson) tries in vain to rekindle the spark in their marriage.

The affair began when Tommy was employed to decorate the couple’s bedroom. Tracy took full advantage of the former publican’s holiday to France, where he was visiting his daughter Emma – and was quick to jump into bed with his footballing hero.

Steve has since returned and almost caught the pair at it behind the counter at the florists, but lucky for them, he didn’t suspect a thing. The Streetcars star has since tried to be more romantic and woo his wife with upcoming plans to suggest renewing their wedding vows – all while Tracy is two-timing him.

However, Despite Tommy turning down her advances since Steve’s return, Tracy reckons she’s in love and doesn’t seem to care about the consequences for her family when the affair is exposed.

Next week in Corrie, Steve’s best mate Tim Metcalfe tells Tracy he knows about her affair, urging her to tell his pal. However, despite agreeing to marry Steve again, Tracy later finds herself breaking the news to Ken and Amy Barlow that she’s been having a fling with Tommy.

Matt, who has played Tommy on and off since 2016, said of the upcoming scenes on the Lorraine show: “Poor old Steve! He’s gonna be mortified at the fact that it’s Tommy, rather than just finding out that his Mrs is having an affair.”

The actor then shared how he stays with his mum up north when filming for the long-running soap because he is actually based down south. But when the Scottish host suggested his mum is help him prepare for his steamy scenes, the soap star clarified: “[My mum] becomes Tracy – within reason!”

He explained: “I’m based down south, obviously ‘Corrie’ is filmed up north. So when I’m filming, I stay with my mum and yeah she learns all her lines with me. She’s been Tracy Barlow for the last four months doing an amazing job. She loves it, it’s great for me and we spend a lot of time together. She loves the show, she’s a big fan.”
