Coronation Street storyline takes seriously dark turn – with a legend’s health in danger

Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) took drastic action in tonight’s Coronation Street after losing her job as Ken Barlow’s (William Roache) carer.
Cassie had been looking after Ken for several months, and recently joined him on a trip abroad – much to the distaste of Ken’s family.
However, on his return home, Ken announced that he had been looking over his finances and had made the decision to let Cassie go.
Over champagne in the Bistro, he broke the news to Cassie, explaining that because he was no longer ill, he didn’t need her help anymore.
Cassie took the news like a champ, though it soon became clear that she wasn’t very happy.
When Ken later saw her offering out her CV at Roy’s Rolls, he offered to help her make it the best that it could be, so that she would be able to find another job.
Cassie took him up on the offer and later headed round.
As Ken looked over her CV, Cassie prepared him a drink to take his painkillers with.
In a shocking move, and unbeknown to Ken, Cassie crushed up extra pills into Ken’s drink.
Is Ken’s health in serious danger as Cassie strives to get her job back?
