Coronation Street suicide story as legend receives news about a relative
Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) was hit with devastating news in recent Coronation Street scenes about her son Clayton Hibbs (Callum Harrison).
Last week, it became clear that Clayton had been trying to get in contact with his mum, though Shona had absolutely no idea as David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) had been intercepting the letters.
David went out of his way to delete emails from the prison, and even disconnected the landline so that Clayton couldn’t get through.
When it became clear that Clayton wasn’t going to give up on trying to get in contact, David paid him a visit.
As Clayton revealed that he was truly sorry for murdering Kylie Platt and holding Shona hostage, David refused to forgive, and took drastic action to ensure that Clayton would stop contacting them.
He lied and said that Shona wanted nothing to do with her son, and that he was dead to her, leaving Clayton devastated.
The next day, Shona was horrified when she received a visit from the police, who informed her that Clayton had tried to take his own life in prison.
They revealed that they had tried to contact her by phone, and when she discovered that it had been unplugged she was totally horrified.
At the hospital, Shona was in a panic, but David did little to comfort her.
As she paced up and down, she asked him for a little bit of empathy – something he felt unable to provide.
David left the hospital, leaving Shona devastated, before being hit with a problem of his own.
When Shona later called David to inform him that Clayton was in a bad way, he revealed that he was at the police station as Max Turner (Paddy Bever) had handed himself in for Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) murder.
With both Shona and David refusing to leave their sons, are they set to be driven apart?
