Coronation Street spoilers have teased another character could be leaving the ITV soap in the coming weeks, albeit temporarily, amid a number of exits being revealed
There could be another Coronation Street exit in the coming weeks, following the news a cast member had been axed from the ITV soap.
Amid multiple “unexpected” departures being teased by soap boss Kate Brooks, it’s also been reported that two stars in particular will leave their roles in the near future, while a third character was killed off on Monday night. Now, new spoilers could suggest another departure is on the cards.
On Monday night we saw Luca Toolan bow out as Mason Radcliffe in a devastating knife crime storyline. That same evening it was confirmed by The Mirror that Craig Tinker actor Colson Smith had been axed from the show after 14 years, with Colson confirming he would be leaving the role.
Surrounding this, we know that Debbie Webster will leave at some point in a sad dementia storyline, while Bethany Platt actress Lucy Fallon will soon head off on maternity leave. Around this, Kate hinted at more exits on the way yet to be announced.
A new spoiler though has teased Evelyn Plummer could be leaving the street in a matter of days. The fan favourite, played by Maureen Lipman, has decided to pursue studying law.

As a result, she heads off to university to start her degree which sees her moving out of her Weatherfield home and into halls. Actress Maureen had recently confirmed her plans to step back from the ITV soap as a full-time cast member.
It’s not a permanent exit for the character, but she will be onscreen less regularly and will be taking a break. This break will kick in very soon it seems, with spoilers confirming her decision to move. Spoilers detail that she packs up her things and prepares to leave the street, moving into the student accommodation at the university.
Maureen had told The Sun about her looming absence: “I’ll be absent for a while and then coming back. I’m not going to die, but then I’ll be in and out of it because I want to have a bit of a life. David and I are thinking of having a bit of a gap year.”
It’s not known how often Evelyn will appear onscreen, while it follows Tracy Barlow actress Kate Ford also appearing less regularly after an exit early last year. Since then, Tracy has been back around three times, staying for short stints on each occasion while it’s not clear if she will be back full-time soon.
