Coronation Street teases major return for iconic character as Max Turner plots his escape from Weatherfield
CORONATION Street has teased the return of a true Weatherfield legend tonight as Max Turner plots his escape from the cobbles.
The teenage tearaway – who is played by actor Paddy Bever in the ITV soap – has been collared by police for setting the fire at his family home in an attempted insurance job.

They were forced to release prime suspect Leanne Battersby when they found the hoodie used for the fire to be covered in Max’s DNA.
But before they got a chance to arrest him, Max did a runner – with help from David and Shona.
And with him hiding out in the builder’s yard while the family plot his escape, Max left Lauren devastated by admitting he was going.
But in a shock development it was revealed how far Max was going – and it’s to the other side of the world to reunite with a cobbles icon – his aunt Becky.
Becky – who was played by actress Katherine Kelly in the ITV soap – was last seen in Weatherfield in 2012 having failed to buy Max from his drug addict mother Kylie.
She left the country having exposed love rival Tracy Barlow, dumping husband Steve McDonald in the process.
It later emerged she was running a hotel in Belize with a new boyfriend – and in today’s episode there was another update.
David told Shona: “So Becky said she’ll have Max.
“Apparently she’s still shacked up with that Ian bloke who owns thee hotel in Belize.
“And he’s never been one to stay on the right side of the law so Max can go and work for him, cash in hand.”
Shona replied drily: “Right, so first we have to get Max out of the country and then pay off Harvey.”
David told her: “Yeah and I’ve already told Harvey he’s got ten grand coming because Andy’s sorted me out another job.
“What’s the alternative? We have to get Max out of the county as fast as possible. After the Joel thing he’s looking at six or seven years easy.
“And this time in an adult prison with people like Harvey. He barely made it out of the STC and he did 18 weeks. He wouldn’t survive it.
“This is the only chance he’s got at any kind of future.”
Will Becky be able to save Max from a future behind bars?
