Coronation Street newcomer Brody (Ryan Mulvey) has a secret connection to the cobbles, which will be explored in an upcoming story.

Viewers of the ITV soap first met the young offender when Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) was placed into the Secure Training Centre following his involvement in Mason Radcliffe’s (Luca Toolan) death.

He immediately found himself on the wrong side of the other lads in there, but found a surprising support network in Brody.

Teacher Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) warned the youngster that he should steer clear of him, but Dylan ignored this advice.

After a number of ‘nice’ gestures, it became clear that Brody had an ulterior motive. He wanted Dylan’s father Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) to smuggle a burner phone into the building for him.

When Sean refused to comply, Brody’s behaviour quickly changed. He trashed Dylan’s room, and promised to make the situation a whole lot worse.

Later, the phone was planted in Daniel’s bag.

Dylan went to retrieve it, but was caught red-handed and Brody make a sickening promise to make his life hell if he didn’t sort it for him.

A number of fans speculated that his parents are Mawdsley Street residents Lou and Mick Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty and Joe Layton), which will be confirmed in upcoming scenes.

Metro understands that the family connection will have huge consequences for Sean and Dylan when the truth comes to light.

However, despite Mick raising him, his father will be revealed to be bent copper Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).

The storyline will be ‘explosive’, reports The Sun.

It’s likely that this plot will be explored in upcoming flashback scenes, with paparazzi snaps seeming to show a younger Kit, Lou, Mick and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) in 2008.

Are Mick and Lou leaving Coronation Street?

Both Mick and Lou will be departing the show in the summer, with a Coronation Street spokesperson confirming the news to us earlier in the week.

‘This is not a shock exit or an early exit’ they said.

‘Mick and Lou were brought into the show to cause chaos on the cobbles in the build-up to a major storyline in the summer and they are already making their presence felt.

‘Joe and Farrell were contracted for a specific length of time, some characters come in for a long time and some like Mick and Lou are brought to pass through and leave a trail of destruction behind them.

‘Both actors are still filming with the show and will be on screen until the summer.’

The ‘neighbours from hell’ were first teased by producer Kate Brooks last year, before making a huge arrival in February.

We’ve so far seen Mick taunt poor Chesney Winter-Brown (Sam Aston), and ruffle feathers in the Rovers when he propositioned Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan).
