Coronation Street to reveal date discrepancy in Lauren Bolton mystery
Daniel contradicts Lauren's earlier claims.
Coronation Street reveals another possible clue in the Lauren Bolton mystery in Wednesday’s episode (March 13).
Max Turner spots something suspicious as he quizzes Daniel Osbourne about his tutoring sessions with Lauren.
Speculation and theories are growing in Weatherfield after Lauren disappeared without explanation last month.
Police have started investigating the case after traces of blood were found on the curtains in Lauren’s flat.
In Wednesday’s episode, Max continues to play amateur detective after spending the night observing the police activity at Lauren’s flat.
Daniel and Bethany Platt later visit Number 8 to talk about the unsettling situation.
Max takes the opportunity to casually question Daniel about the tutoring sessions he was conducting to help Lauren with her GCSE English work.
The teenager is quick to spot that there’s a discrepancy between Daniel’s recollections and one of the dates that Lauren previously mentioned to him in relation to her lessons with Daniel.
Does this mean that Lauren was lying to Max at the time – or is Daniel holding something back?
Corrie bosses have previously confirmed that Daniel will become one of the main suspects in the Lauren storyline.
Wednesday’s episode sees DS Swain question Daniel at the police station, insinuating that he may have abused his position by demanding sex in return for the lessons.
Swain also brings up Daniel’s past incidents with his former student Summer Spellman and sex worker Nicky Wheatley.
Vicky Myers, who plays DS Swain, previously told Digital Spy: “She’s quick to investigate Daniel’s history with women – especially the connection with Nicky Wheatley and so on. Max comes into the police station and they have a discussion about that.
“There’s also the incident with Summer and the fact that he was brought in for questioning about improper conduct. So with that, there’s obviously a line of enquiry with him.
“Swain is keen to find out exactly what Daniel’s up to – was he tutoring Lauren for sexual favours? As awful as that sounds, perhaps that’s exactly what’s been going on.
“We’re picking apart these people’s lives and how accepting the community is. But when you put it down on paper, you ask: ‘Is there an ulterior motive with this?’ So Swain is very much on that and wants to look into it further.”
