Coronation Street to reveal new messages clue in Lauren Bolton mystery

Is Bethany's theory correct?

Coronation Street Soap Scoop! Nathan is attacked

Coronation Street is set to reveal a new phone messages clue in the Lauren Bolton mystery.

Lauren has been missing since February, and the circumstances surrounding her disappearance are still unclear to both the viewers and the Weatherfield residents.

Roy Cropper is still in prison after being charged with Lauren’s murder, while Daniel Osbourne is still under suspicion from the police.

There was recently some hope when Roy remembered that Lauren was wearing an expensive necklace that she said was bought for her by her boyfriend.

Roy shared the potentially major clue with his solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey, even providing a detailed drawing of the jewellery, but Dee-Dee was unfortunately unable to trace the necklace and was therefore no closer to discovering the identity of Lauren’s mystery boyfriend.

But there are some new leads as to Lauren’s whereabouts, and this week will see Daniel’s friend Nicky meet a girl called Ellie, who was groomed as a teenager, and might have important information.

Plus, Bethany Platt is set to discover that her former abuser Nathan Curtis has been released from prison, and when she tracks him down, she accuses him of murdering Lauren.

There will be further breakthroughs in the case next week when, in scenes that will air on Monday, May 13, Dee-Dee takes a call from the Crown Prosecution Service, who tell her that they have some news regarding the messages on Lauren’s phone.

Dee-Dee shares this information and tells Carla Barlow and Nina Lucas about the new messages which have come to light.

Bethany listens in to the conversation, her mind racing – as she still believes that the real culprit for Lauren’s suspected murder could be Nathan.

She decides to take matters into her own hands and investigate further. Bethany manages to get into the solicitors’ office and she finds Lauren’s file on Dee-Dee’s desk.

But will Bethany get the clues she needs to prove her theory about Nathan? And could the new evidence in the phone messages be enough to help Roy, who is still being held on remand?
