This comes after Monday’s episode tackled a significant knife crime storyline, with the ITV series working alongside the Ben Kinsella Trust to ensure the portrayal was handled with authenticity.

In recent episodes, Mason has assisted DS Lisa Swain in her quest to bring his malevolent brothers, Matty and Logan, to justice. After Lisa disclosed to Mason that his brothers were behind the car crash that claimed her wife Becky’s life, he decided to take action.

Despite gathering evidence against his brothers, they were released from custody as the evidence was deemed insufficient to detain them. Realising his perilous situation, Mason chose to leave Weatherfield and took up Stu Carpenter’s job offer in Germany.

However, in a heartbreaking turn of events, just hours before starting his new life, his brothers tracked him down and fatally stabbed him in a series of deeply distressing scenes.
