Coronation Street viewers are convinced they know how Bethany Platt is going to be written out of the ITV soap - and it's not going to be a happy ending for the character
Coronation Street fans are convinced they’ve figured out how Bethany Platt, played by Lucy Fallon, will exit the popular ITV soap.
Over the years, Bethany has been at the centre of numerous major storylines, from child grooming to affairs. In recent times, she’s had a particularly rough ride, having suffered a perforated bowel and life-threatening sepsis following a botched liposuction procedure in Turkey. As a result, she now lives with a stoma bag.
This ordeal has strained her relationship with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard). Recently, Daniel has been torn between Bethany and his ex, Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), even sleeping with Daisy unbeknownst to Bethany.
Last week, Daisy discovered she was pregnant, unsure if Daniel or her on-off boyfriend Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) is the father. Prior to this revelation, Daisy witnessed Daniel propose to Bethany, who accepted.

However, with actress Lucy Fallon set to leave the show, fans suspect that Bethany won’t get her fairy-tale ending, reports Lancs Live. In August, it was announced that Corrie actress Lucy would be taking a maternity leave following the news of her second pregnancy with boyfriend Ryan Ledson. The couple welcomed their first child, Sonny Jude, last year.
Now, fans have pieced together a heartbreaking exit storyline for her character Bethany. Fans speculate that she will bid farewell after discovering Daniel and Daisy’s secret, and decide to visit her grandmother Gail (played by Helen Worth) in France.

One viewer theorised: “Baby is obvs Daniel’s and Bethany will find out and that’ll be them writing her out for maternity leave,” Another fan speculated: “I’m thinking that Daniel finds out that Daisy is pregnant around late January and Bethany breaks up with Daniel.”
They continued: “Bethany is staying at David’s during the Platt’s fire which is Late Jan/Early Feb and then she’ll probably leave to stay with Gail and Jesse in France.”

A third fan chimed in: “I do think we get to the wedding though cause I feel like Glenda foreshadowed it when she said to Sarah “I love a wedding scrap” so I think Bethany will find out during the wedding.”
