Coronation Street viewers rumble new couple after steamy kiss – and it’s not Glenda and Michael

Drama continued to unfold in Weatherfield this Monday evening (June 10) and viewers had a lot to say about Toyah Battersby and Nick Tilsley when the pair shared a kiss.

Two residents let passion take over as they shared a kiss, despite one of them being engaged

Heartbreak is ahead for Leanne Battersby after her sister Toyah smooched her fiancé Nick Tilsley in Coronation Street.

Tensions continued to emerge between the sisters this Monday (June 10) as the former’s trust in Rowan remained untouched, despite Toyah’s (portrayed by Georgia Taylor) best attempts at telling her not to throw caution to the wind.

Meanwhile, Nick (Ben Price) felt increasingly alienated from his fiancée, and Leanne (Jane Danson) eventually made the decision to leave No.12 Victoria Court, with Toyah arriving just in time later on to help her brother-in-law cope.

But with affairs being rife on the Weatherfield cobbles, Toyah and Nick ended up smooching behind Leanne’s back, leaving soap fans with plenty to say as many of them had seen the twist coming.

Viewers have cheered as Toyah and Nick kissed, but will it evolve into a full-blown relationship or affair?

“Nick and Toyah, that wasn’t obvious at all was it lol. Been coming for weeks”, one of them notably penned on X, otherwise known as Twitter. Another added: “Nick will get with Toyah now, you watch.” A multitude of soap fans were happy to see Nick and Toyah get closer, particularly as the former’s relationship with Leanne seems to be headed for the rocks, most notably due to her link with Rowan Cunliffe, the leader of “self-improvement” group The Institute, which Toyah has been trying to expose.

“Nick and Toyah are good together”, one commented just as another echoed: “A few bottles later and Nick & Toyah will forget all about Leanne.” One soap watcher wrote: “I’m actually here for Toyah and Nick bc all Nick and Leanne do is argue”, while another seemed to agree: “Never mind Nick you’ve got Toyah to console you.”

Elsewhere, a social media user jumped in: “I wouldn’t blame Nick for sleeping with Toyah at this point. At least she’s been on his side from the start despite everything she’s going through herself.” And another echoed: “I seriously hope Nick and Toyah get together just to spite Leanne.” But

Toyah was most recently arrested for murder as one of her buried secrets came back to haunt her and she was forced to explain how she had given birth to a stillborn baby girl when she was 19 years old, with the father being Phil Simmonds, the man who raped her. She buried the baby in a park shortly after the birth and kept her trauma under wraps.

However, after bravely deciding to tell Nick and Leanne everything, Toyah received support, most notably from the former and his sister Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien), who also suffered a baby loss of her own. But will Toyah lose sight of Leanne’s cult ordeal as she embarks on an affair with Nick?
