Coronation Street villain makes chilling return to cobbles after prison stint

Coronation Street bully Mason Radcliffe was seen returning to the cobbles on Friday after his short stint in prison - with viewers convinced Dylan is already in danger

Coronation Street viewers have been shocked to see Luca Toolan’s character, Mason Radcliffe, back in Weatherfield in the recent Friday’s episode. Mason, known for his villainous ways, was caught sleeping rough by Bill Fellows character, Stu Carpenter.

Fans will know that Mason previously landed into jail in April following his terrorising acts on Liam Connor, played by Charlie Wrenshall. The bully’s brutal past saw him threatening Liam with a knife, leading to Dylan Wilson (played by Liam McCheyne) speaking out against him, effectively landing him in jail.

However, much to the shock of residents, Mason seems to have cut his prison stay short. In the unfolding scenes on Friday, Maria Connor (portrayed by Samia Longchambon) walks her son Liam to the bus stop for his last day before summer, and they bump into Dylan.

Dylan reveals his anxieties about Mason’s sudden return, having played an instrumental role in putting him behind bars in the first place. Attempting to reassure him, Liam says: “I do know that part of the conditions of him getting out is that he can’t come anywhere near me or you,” reports the Express.

Not convinced, Dylan predicts Mason would want to take revenge regardless. A hopeful Liam assures him: “I get that you’re scared, I am and all but as long as we stick together…” but a frustrated Dylan interrupts him, not wanting to discuss the matter further.

One irked viewer tweeted, “Mason’s reign of terror resumes. #Corrie”. Another fan chimed in: “#corrie Masons out ooooh nooo”.

A different viewer pointed out: “Is Mason sleeping rough metres away from where Liam lives, surely that’d be against bail conditions or something.”

“They let Mason out after like four days #corrie no wonder so many murderers in this street get away with it,” another fan commented.

“Lemme guess Mason(eyebrow boy) and that kid he threatened(forgot his name too) are gonna get the same job at the Naan bread place aren’t they? #Corrie,” one fan speculated. Another viewer simply expressed their frustration: “Not Mason [sic]”.

It appears Mason’s return has already unsettled Dylan as later in the episode, Stu paid a visit to Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) at The Rovers.

Sean revealed that the teen didn’t show up for his trial shift and looked worried as he shared some bad news. Has Mason already started seeking revenge on Dylan? Or has fear caused the teen to keep a low profile?
