Coronation Street fans can expect the return of a familiar face in worrying scenes next month

Coronation Street viewers will see a villain head back to the ITV soap in the coming weeks.

A familiar face will rock residents with their comeback, four years after his last stint on the show. Eight years on from him horrifically murdering a fan favourite, the sinister character is ready to cause more trouble.

It’s claimed Kylie Platt ‘s killer Clayton Hibbs, played by actor Callum Harrison, will be back onscreen in new scenes in November. It follows spoilers teasing drama ahead for David Platt and his wife Shona Ramsey.

Shona is Clayton’s mother, so it seems what David is hiding will be linked to his return, but what does he want? Eight years ago Clayton stabbed and killed David’s first wife Kylie in devastating scenes.

Kylie died in David’s arms in a moment that rocked viewers and the street. The last time we saw Clayton was in 2020, with Shona dragged into his prison drama.

So what brings him back this time and will it drive a wedge between Shona and David? Spoilers had teased David will be avoiding a mystery email sent from Weatherfield Prison Services, before it’s revealed he’s also been sent a letter.

Later in the week he deletes all emails from the prison from Shona’s laptop, clearly keen to stop her from finding out. Sooner or later though the truth does get revealed, and Clayton makes his comeback

According to Metro.co.uk, the scenes with actor Callum have already been filmed and will air next month. The return will “awaken old nightmares” and no doubt leave David and his children horrified, while it’s thought Clayton will remain in prison.

It’s not thought to be a permanent return for the character, at least not for now, so he may only be onscreen for a matter of days if that. It comes amid more trouble for David after he was revealed as the person who stole Damon Hay’s money.

Damon had offered his ex Sarah Platt, David’s sister, some cash he had stored in a lock-up. The money was stolen in a robbery, and Damon wanted Sarah to use it towards Bethany Platt’s medical bills.

But when the cash went missing Damon’s brother Harvey Gaskell found out and attacked him, before he sent someone to break into Sarah’s flat. Harvey eventually bought the story from Damon that it was one of his associates that took the money, but viewers, and Jesse Chadwick, know it was David.
