Coronation Street ‘work out’ real assailant as Nathan is brutally attacked
Coronation Street fans were gripped to their screens as they watched ITV villain Nathan Curtis be brutally attacked by a masked assailant on the famous cobbles
Coronation Street fans are convinced they have unmasked the mysterious assailant who brutally attacked Nathan Curtis (played by Christopher Harper).
During Wednesday’s visit (May 15) to the ITV soap, fans watched Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) struggle to cope after spotting her abusive ex skulking around the cobbles. In a tense confrontation, she told her former flame her theory that she was determined to pin Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) disappearance on him.
But things took an unexpected turn for the worse when the labourer was attacked in the middle of the day by a man wearing black skinny jeans and a matching black hoodie. It didn’t take long before DS. Swain (Victoria Myers) was on the case and as the TV villain was rushed to hospital.

Suspicion quickly fell upon Bethany’s current boyfriend Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) after he suspiciously took a walk around the time of his attack. Things didn’t improve towards the end of the episode when the teacher challenged Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) to a fight inside the Rovers Return.
Thankfully Gary Windass (Mikey North) managed to jump in between the two of them before the pair exchanged blows. But police quickly took the fiery redhead away in handcuffs for questioning down in the station.
Meanwhile, Sarah Barlow (Tina O’Brien) theorised that David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) could be the attacker. Earlier in the day, the hair stylist was seen wearing a pair of black denim jeans but he strangely changed his outfit half-way through the day.
His sister managed to grab his jeans before he put them in the washing machine where she spotted a suspicious red stain on them, which he claimed was only hair dye. However, viewers are convinced that neither resident was the attacker, and that the real assailant is actually hiding under the radar.
After watching the dramatic scenes hit the airwaves, viewers flooded to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their suspicions online. One user penned: “I reckon Gary attacked Nathan. Same size as him #Corrie.”
Another agreed: “Everyone is annoying me in this episode [cry-laughing emoji] and it’s obvious Nathan’s attacker was Gary, right? It was his build and hard man stance [two cry-laughing emojis] #Corrie.”
Meanwhile a third pointed out: “#corrie The only ones with the hoodie like the Nathan attacker are: Gary & (wild card) Ryan.” A fourth chimed in with: “I think it was Gary that attacked Nathan. Daniel is too obvious #Corrie.”
