Helping out Lauren leads to trouble for Bethany.

Coronation Street's Bethany Platt to receive a sinister new threat

Coronation Street‘s Bethany Platt will receive a sinister threat next week, after a favour for Lauren Bolton backfires on her.

With Bethany now having a contact at Chit Chat magazine after covertly selling them a story about the love triangle drama between Daniel Osbourne, Daisy Midgeley and Ryan Connor, Lauren approaches Bethany about another article idea.

In scenes that will air next week, Lauren admits to Bethany that she’s skint and wonders if she would write up a story about Lauren’s experience of being brainwashed by a far-right group, and sell it to a magazine.

Later in the week, Bethany tells Daniel about the article about Lauren’s experiences, and shows him a worrying threatening message that she’s received from one of Lauren’s old contacts.

Could Bethany be in danger?

These scenes form part of a dramatic week for Lauren, who also vows to leave Weatherfield behind after Roy Cropper sacks her from her job at the café – and then disappears.

Cait Fitton, who plays Lauren, recently opened up about her character’s financial difficulties, which have led her to make videos for adult website O-Vidz.

“Lauren has managed to convince herself she just needs the cash but I think at this point she does feel worthless, because she’s in a situation she doesn’t want to be in,” she said.

“She just wants to be loved. She’s doing O-Vidz to pay the bills but it’s not making her feel any better, but she’s got no other choice.”

Bethany, meanwhile, has been facing further drama with love rival Daisy, after Bethany’s cutting comments caused another row between the pair.
