Coronation Street’s Daisy left in a panic by Ryan’s sudden daunting demand
Coronation Street’s Daisy Midegely (Charlotte Jordan) is panic-stricken when Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) makes an unexpected cash demand next week.
Daisy and her stepmum Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) currently owe Ryan’s aunt Carla Connor (Alison King) a huge sum of money thanks to their arrangement over the ownership of the Rovers.
As fans of the ITV soap will remember, Jenny sought to sell the boozer in 2023 when it was weeks away from going bankrupt, with brewery Newton & Ridley initially turning down the chance to buy it believing it was not profitable.
After a botched sale to pub chain LS Waterford left the pub closed for two months, Jenny and Daisy later repurchased it with money Jenny’s dead murderous ex Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) had stolen from Underworld.
After discovering it was her money used to buy the Rovers, Underworld boss Carla has kept Jenny and Daisy on behind the bar, allowing them to repay their debts.
But in scenes to air next week, it seems time is up for Daisy and Jenny.
It’s a huge week for Carla, who is readying herself for transplant surgery but is worried villainous brother Rob Donovan (Marc Bayliss) is about to walk back on his agreement to be a donor.
After a week of drama involving Rob, Friday’s episode will see Ryan tell Daisy it’s time she paid Carla back the money she owes her – and fast.
Viewers will have to wait to find out why Carla is in such sudden need of the cash, but it is bound to spook Daisy and Jenny, who have previously admitted they don’t have the funds for any early repayment of their debt.
Meanwhile, it was recently confirmed that Charlotte Jordan, who plays Daisy, is one of several stars set to leave the soap later this year.
Confirming her exit after four years on the cobbles, the actress said in a statement: ‘It’s time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities.
‘It’s been a privilege to be part of a wonderful institution with even more wonderful colleagues who have taught me so much.’
She added: ‘My time at Coronation Street is something I’ll always cherish.’
