Coronation Street legend Daniel Brocklebank recently enjoyed lunch with his TV family Peter Ash and Harriet Bibby.

Daniel plays Vicar Billy Mayhew in the ITV soap, who is married to Peter’s character Paul Foreman.

Life changed dramatically for the couple last year when Paul was diagnosed with motor neurone disease.

In recent months, Paul’s health has deteriorated further, which prompted him to discuss assisted dying with Billy.

Billy agreed that he would help Paul end his life when the time comes, but their adopted daughter Summer, played by Harriet, had no idea about the plan.

Away from this emotional and intense storyline, Daniel, Harriet and Peter recently met up to spend the afternoon together.

Sharing a picture on his Instagram, Daniel can be seen smiling at the camera with Harriet and Peter as they tuck into some lunch.

‘Gorgeous little Thursday lunch with my TV family’, Daniel wrote alongside.

In upcoming episodes of the ITV soap, Billy and Paul will say goodbye to Summer as she heads to America to start university.

Last month she was awarded the incredible opportunity to study in Boston, but was unsure whether to accept it for fears of losing out on the final months of Paul’s life.

Billy agreed that maybe they should keep the move quiet for the sake of his health, and she agreed to defer her studies by a year.

This week, Paul finds out about Summer delaying her plans and implores her not to give up her dreams because of his condition.

In upcoming scenes, Summer books her flight and cooks a family dinner ahead of her exit.

Meanwhile, a therapist tells Paul and his mum Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) that they should consider fitting Paul with a feeding tube as his condition has gotten worse.

Over the meal, Paul fights back the tears as they all enjoy their roast dinner and he is forced to eat his puréed.

The next day, Summer leaves Weatherfield for Boston – but how long will she be away?
