There were big scenes on Coronation Street on Monday night as James Bailey returned to the ITV soap.
The role has been recast with original actor Nathan Graham replaced by new actor Jason Callender. James headed to Weatherfield to visit his pregnant sister Dee-Dee Bailey amid her recent turmoil on the ITV soap.
But it soon became clear James was up to something and a cryptic phone call was aired. He was trying to be silent and revealed he was waiting to mention something “massive” that would be a shock.
He promised he’d let the person on the phone, his partner Danny, know something when he had the information needed. So what is James up to? It seems spoilers have given this away with new scenes for Tuesday’s episode revealing all.
What is James hiding from Dee-Dee?
But some viewers who have yet to see any spoilers believe they know what James is after, and it involves Dee-Dee and her unborn baby. Viewers think James is going to ask Dee-Dee to let him and Danny adopt her baby after her plans to place the baby up for adoption.
One viewer questioned on social media: “Upcoming episodes hint at a secret motive behind James Bailey’s return, with a twist involving Dee-Dee. What could he be up to?”
A viewer suggested: “I’ve seen speculation that James is going to ask to adopt the baby.” A third fan agreed: “I get the feeling they’ve brought James back to adopt the baby??”
Another viewer commented: “It looks like James is going to adopt it anyway. Especially as in the YouTube video with the three new characters he talked about a cute new cast member stealing the show in all scenes they are in.”

It seems the speculation is right though as spoilers for Tuesday and beyond seem to confirm why James is there and what the phone call was about. The spoiler reveals that James suggests to his sister Dee-Dee that he and his partner Danny could adopt her baby
He tells her that they both want to provide her child with a loving and safe home, knowing she doesn’t want to keep the baby. As the confession is made, Dee-Dee is left stunned but will she agree or might James cause more drama?
It comes as Lauren Bolton dropped some big news on Dee-Dee following her son Frankie’s health battle. Lauren once again told Dee-Dee how grateful she was to her for going ahead with her pregnancy and giving Frankie a chance of a normal life.
But later in she broke the news that doctors had found another donor for Frankie meaning he would not have to wait until his sibling was born.
