Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) and her mum Christina (Amy Robbins) are plotting to bring Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews)’s world crashing down on Coronation Street – and the plan is about to step up several gears.
Jenny and Daisy had a massive falling-out after Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard)’s son Bertie almost drowned while Jenny was supposed to be looking after him.
Lashing out at Daisy, Jenny blamed her stepdaughter for the death of her son Tom, who also drowned when he was a toddler. She said that Daisy was supposed to be watching Tom when the accident happened.
This, coming shortly after Daisy was devastated by the loss of her own baby, was the final straw for Daisy, whose relationship with Jenny had been strained for some time. So she summoned Christina – who hates Jenny for ‘stealing’ her former husband – and the two cooked up a way to get revenge on Jenny.
‘Daisy is so angry with her and I have a long term resentment of her,’ Amy Robbins told us. ‘They think anything at that point to bring her down, I think they’re feeling vengeful. We’re happy to see her lose the pub. We’re happy to see her lose everything in that moment, it’s pretty horrid.
After Christina overheard Jenny telling Carla (Alison King) that she wanted first refusal in buying the pub – using a windfall from Daisy’s father – Christina vowed that Jenny would soon be penniless and publess, while Daisy and Christina would be living a great life with Jenny’s cash.
Christina had already set up a fake dating profile of a man called Dom and tricked Jenny into messaging him. She ordered flowers to be sent from Jenny from Dom to further catfish her.
In upcoming episodes, Dom himself appears in the Rovers – much to Daisy’s shock. A smug Christina explains that it’s all part of her plan.
Dom spins Jenny a story that he’s selling his business and anyone who invests in it within the next few days will be guaranteed to double their money. Jenny is immediately hooked by the story as she believes everything Dom is telling her.
She agrees to invest, and a gleeful Daisy and Christina get ready to get their hands on Jenny’s money. Daisy even tells Daniel that she’s coming into an inheritance from an aunt and wants to use the money to start a new life away from Weatherfield.
With Charlotte Jordan heading for pastures new after it was revealed that she’s leaving Coronation Street, could this be how Daisy leaves Weatherfield – with Jenny’s money setting her up for a new life?
Before that can happen there’s a further twist when Daisy and her mum realise that Dom and Jenny have spent the night together. Is Dom still sticking to the plan or has he fallen for Jenny?
