Coronation Street’s Lauren Bolton ‘not really dead’ as murder investigation deepens
Coronation Street fans are convinced that Lauren Bolton has "faked her own death" in Weatherfield as police take their investigation into her disappearance to the next level
Coronation Street viewers are convinced Lauren Bolton isn’t really dead as the investigation into her possible murder continues.
The blonde bombshell, played by Cait Fitton, suddenly vanished from Weatherfield back in January. No one has seen or heard from her since, with all eyes pointing to her former employer Roy Cropper (David Nielson) and her tutor Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).
Things took a dramatic turn when DS Swain confirmed a likely murder weapon had been located after blood and human tissue was found on an item from her flat. The elderly businessman was swiftly arrested and remanded behind bars until his court date.

In upcoming scenes, ITV fans will see police will recreate the teen’s last known movements in the precinct to help find any missing clues to her whereabouts. Taking to X – formerly known as Twitter – fans shared their suspicions online.
One user penned: “I’m not convinced Lauren is dead! They don’t know she is; someone might be holding her somewhere.” Another agreed: “Lauren’s obviously not actually dead right? Seems way too staged.”
A third echoed: “Lauren is not dead” as a fourth chimed in with: “It’s pretty obvious that Lauren isn’t even dead.” As tensions rise on the Street, Daily Star has quizzed one of the most popular ‘creative’ AI tools Gemini to find out what really happened to Lauren.
When asked if the café worker is alive and well, the programme suggested that the star may have “faked her own death” for her safety. It told us: “Lauren could be part of a witness protection program, requiring her to disappear and fake her death for her safety.”
The program went on to suggest that her disappearance could be part of a more elaborate scheme on the cobbles. Gemini continued: “A more dramatic twist would involve Laren faking her death as part of a larger scheme, perhaps to get revenge on someone or escape a difficult situation.”
The system pointed out that ITV bosses are known for misleading viewers and could be “making them believe Lauren is dead, only to reveal she’s alive later with a different explanation.”
Meanwhile, some viewers on Reddit are convinced that Lauren might not have been killed but instead found herself in a sticky situation and accidentally taken someone’s life.
One user penned: “Maybe Lauren isn’t hurt. She hit someone and it’s their blood, and then ran and is in hiding because she’s scared.” Another agreed: “Yeah, maybe there has been a murder and Lauren did it!”
A third echoed: “This actually seems like a plausible explanation. Strange that she wouldn’t come out of hiding though, to defend Roy. After all he was nothing but kind to her. Unless, of course, she has no mobile phone, internet or social media connection wherever she’s gone.”
