Coronation Street’s Lauren ‘in hiding’ as fans ‘work out’ murder twist – but she’s alive
Coronation Street viewers believe they have worked out the real reason why Lauren Bolton - played by Cait Fitton - left the famous ITV cobbles - and she could be the guilty one
Coronation Street fans believe they have worked out a major twist as the investigation into Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) disappearance continues.
Over the past few weeks, viewers have been gripped to their screens after the café worker disappeared from the famous cobbles. Since then, all eyes have been on her employer Roy Cropper (David Nielson) and her former tutor Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).
Loyal ITV fans will know the business owner has recently swapped the comfort of Roy’s Rolls for time behind bars after he was remanded in prison until his trial date. And thins have only got worse for the TV favourite, as he attempts to adjust to life behind bars.
As the dramatic scenes unfold, viewers have flooded to social media to share their suspicions surrounding the blonde bombshell’s disappearance. Until now, many viewers believe the star has been kidnapped and possibly murdered as TV villain Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) returns to Weatherfield in upcoming scenes.
But some viewers aren’t convinced. Taking to Reddit, one user believes that Lauren might not have been killed but instead found herself in a sticky situation and accidentally taken someone’s life on the famous cobbles.
One user penned: “Maybe Lauren isn’t hurt. She hit someone and it’s their blood, and then ran and is in hiding because she’s scared.” Another agreed: “Yeah, maybe there has been a murder and Lauren did it!”
A third echoed: “This actually seems like a plausible explanation. Strange that she wouldn’t come out of hiding though, to defend Roy. After all he was nothing but kind to her. Unless, of course, she has no mobile phone, internet or social media connection wherever she’s gone.”
Meanwhile, others believe that Nathan has recruited Lauren into his evil schemes after six years away from the soap. Viewers will remember the evil character was part of a gang that groomed young girls, including Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).
He was eventually arrested and served a custodial sentence, but it appears he has somehow found his way out after ITV bosses confirmed his return to the soap. Viewers are certain Nathan is somehow linked to Lauren’s disappearance.
Before she vanished in January, the student had a mystery boyfriend who she was in contact with. Now viewers are convinced that Nathan was the man in question as they flooded to X to share their suspicions online.
One user penned: “I think Bethany is still in touch with Nathan and she knows where Lauren has gone.” Another asked: “If Nathan Curtis is the one who’s held Lauren captive – I wonder if she’ll ever return. Daniel is set to be questioned and he’s going out with Bethany who Nathan first had an interest in #Corrie.”
A third echoed: “I’m worried for Bethany if Nathan returns and is revealed to have kidnapped Lauren #Corrie.” A fourth chimed in with: “We know Nathan Curtis is coming back – imagine if he is Lauren’s boyfriend? #corrie.”
Viewers will have to stay tuned to see if Lauren is the real killer and if she will ever return to the famous cobbles.
