Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) is back in Coronation Street.

In February, the young woman suddenly disappeared after telling Roy Cropper (David Neilson) she was planning on leaving Weatherfield to start a new life elsewhere.

What came next was an incredibly long police investigation that saw DS Swain (Vicky Myers) and her team try and find out who murdered Lauren.

The number one suspect was Roy. He was sent behind bars for weeks and very nearly sentenced to a crime he didn’t commit.

Fortunately, Roy was released as attention turned to Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper). The paedophile and abuser wasn’t responsible for the crime, however, as it was later confirmed Joel Deering (Calum Lill) attacked – but never killed – Lauren after starting a relationship with her.

Coming up, Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) and Nina (Mollie Gallagher) are shocked when the nurse confirms Roy’s recent visitor to the hospital was someone young with blonde hair.

As Dee-Dee tells Bethany (Lucy Fallon) and Joel that the police are checking the CCTV to see if it was Lauren, Roy is delighted to think that his friend appears to be alive.

In the week, as Nina arrives to collect Roy from hospital, he feel anxious at the thought of leaving. When they eventually return home, Nina wonders if Roy should spend a few days at Cathy’s (Melanie Hill) in Scarborough to rest up.

Roy doesn’t leave Weatherfield immediately, as he’s interrupted when Lauren arrives at the café wanting to speak and apologise to him.

But how will Roy react?

And what’s next for Lauren now we know she’s alive?
