Coronation Street’s Lauren star sparks exit fears as killer’s identity is ‘exposed’

Coronation Street star Cait Fitton has sent fans wild with her latest Instagram post ahead of the ITV character’s big soap twist.

Back in February, the young teen vanished from Weatherfield without a trace. Suspicion soon landed on her employer Roy Cropper (David Neilson) after she told him her plans to leave the street for a fresh start.

Later that day, her friend Bobby (Jack Carroll) popped by the flat and found it completely empty. Her property was completely abandoned with the radio on and a bacon sandwich left on the side.

It was only last month that police started to grow suspicious of Lauren’s disappearance after Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) found blood in her flat. It didn’t take long before DS Swain (Vicky Myers) and PC Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) jumped on the investigation.

As the investigation got underway, Swain and Tinker quickly arrested the beloved businessman after they learnt about his suspicious activities. Loyal viewers will recall how he had cleaned her flat after the police had left and he was the last person to see her before she disappeared.

With the stalwart now behind bars, fans have also grown suspicious of her former tutor Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) and solicitor Joel Deering (Callum Lill). It comes after a receipt for expensive jewellery was found in the legal advisor’s car.

He attempted to brush off the receipt by claiming he’d bought a pair of cufflinks which had set him back £300. But many are convinced that this could be the necklace Lauren was given by her mysterious boyfriend before she disappeared.

As it stands, it has not been revealed whether or not the blonde bombshell has been killed. Ahead of tonight’s big reveal, the actor has left viewer scratching their heads after her latest update online.

Taking to Instagram, the 22-year-old updated her bio which reads: “Previously Lauren in Coronation Street.” Now, fans are convinced this is a telling clue as to how her character’s storyline will end.

Given that she’s not on the show right now, it could be a red herring, or it could be a hint that she has left the ITV show for good. Meanwhile, beloved actor Lucy Fallon – who plays Bethany Platt on the ITV soap – has hinted fan favourite Roy Cropper could be kept behind bars for longer than expected.

The mum-of-one couldn’t spill too much about the soap, but she did drop a bombshell about David Neilson’s look for his character’s prison stint. “Poor Roy”, she said, sympathising with the iconic café owner.

She then revealed: “It’s really hard as well because I keep seeing David in the green room, he’s got this long beard that he’s grown because he’s in prison.” Although this could be a hint that Roy’s prison stint will last a longer than initially planned, fans are convinced he’s been wrongly convicted.
