During tonight’s show Coronation Street viewers watched as Daniel and Daisy shared a moment after her split from Ryan.

But as Daniel’s phone continued to ring, he was unaware it was medics calling from Turkey to say Bethany had been rushed to hospital.

Down as her next of kin, Daniel then rushed to Underworld to tell Sarah her daughter was in a critical condition.

But as the pair rushed back to pack a bag and book flights, Sarah realised her passport was due to expire, meaning she wouldn’t be allowed board the flight.

Daniel travelled solo in a desperate attempt to find out if Bethany was OK.

While Sarah was consoled by Audrey and David, she snapped at the pair in distress at contemplating what had happened to Bethany.

The episode ended as Daniel reached the hospital and found an English-speaking doctor to relay Bethany’s condition to Sarah.

Placing the phone on speaker, the doctor said: “She has sepsis.”

“Why Daniel, why is she having surgery, is she ok,” Sarah interrupted.

She was left stunned as the doctor told her Bethany was in intensive care with a perforated bowl, having had botched liposuction.

Before the credits rolled the character, played by Tina O’Brien, said: “I don’t understand, liposuction, why, why would she be having that done.
